Two realtors are hired for Coon Rapids program

Two realtors have been hired by the Coon Rapids Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) to provide real estate services for the next two Home for Generations project properties.
Michael Hunstad, Counselor Realty, will work with the HRA on the 537 109th Ave. N.W. home, while Darbi Comparetto, Remax Advantage Plus, has been given the 10911 Dogwood St. N.W., assignment.
Hunstad has provided real estate services to the HRA for the first two Home for Generations properties, one of which has been sold, while the second remains on the market.
According to Kristin DeGrande, city neighborhood coordinator, staff issued a request for qualification (RFQ) in early January for real estate services for the rehabilitation and sale of single-family homes acquired through the Home for Generations program.
Distributed to all agents affiliated with the North Metro Association of Realtors, the city received 22 proposals.
Four realtors were interviewed by staff and Hunstad and Comparetto were recommended because their qualifications most closely matched staff’s criteria, DeGrande said.
The criteria included:
• Overall knowledge of the local real estate market.
• Experience with marketing older homes.
• Proposed sales commission.
• Overall availability.
• Knowledge of types of improvements that make homes more marketable.
• Ability to implement creative and effective marketing techniques.
“Mr. Hunstad offers a wide range of knowledge, a low sales commission and creative marketing ideas,” DeGrande said.
In his work with the HRA on the first two Home for Generations projects, Hunstad has consistently exceeded staff’s expectations, she said.
“Ms. Comparetto also offers extensive experience, marketing ability and operates a staging business,” DeGrande said.
