Myron Bonn

Funeral service for Myron E. Bonn, 73, Ramsey, took place Dec. 29 at Methven-Taylor Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Jack Rehnberg officiated.

Bonn was a 53-year employee of Iten Chevrolet, two-time past president of Minneapolis Bowling Association, Minneapolis Bowling Hall of Fame and member of MSMA.

He is survived by his wife, Barb; children, Heather (Gene) Tomas, Michael; brothers, Eugene, Gordon (Annie); many nieces and nephews; and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Mary Bonn; and sister, Carol Jenkins.

Arrangements were by Methven-Taylor Funeral Home Anoka Chapel.

 

Richard Emerson

Funeral service for Richard “Dick” Deane Emerson, 83, Blaine, took place Dec. 27 at Peace Lutheran Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Valerie Brown-Greenly officiated.

Emerson died Dec. 21 in Coon Rapids. He was born April 12, 1928 in Winona to Earl Emerson and Marion Johnson and was a retired nuclear power plant shift and training supervisor.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly; sons, Robert (Connie), William (Teri), Russell, Mark (Lorri) and Brian (Sally); 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter-in-law, Lanette.

Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home.

 

Betsy Gilbertson

Memorial service for Betsy May (Welch) Gilbertson, 83, Anoka, will take place at 11 a.m. tomorrow (Saturday, Jan. 7) at First Congregational Church of Anoka.

Gilbertson died Dec. 24 at St. Luke’s Hospital Hospice unit in Duluth following a lengthy illness. She was born and raised in Prescott, Wis., and taught elementary and kindergarten 30 years for Robbinsdale and Anoka-Hennepin school districts. She sang in the Congregational church choir, was active in Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution and Alanon.

She is survived by her sons, Lance, Craig (Julie), Scott (Mary), Chris (Kristine); stepdaughter, Linda (Paul) Hackl; 18 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sister Mary Ann (Herman) Brihn; and many family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bud and May Welch; husband, Marvin; brother, Dave and his wife Alice; and sister Grace Edna.

Interment will take place at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Cremation Society of Minnesota.

 

Denise Cichoski-Gordon

Funeral service for Denise Louise Cichoski-Gordon, 59, St. Francis, took place Jan. 2 at Church of St. Patrick of Cedar Creek, Oak Grove. Rev. David N. Blume officiated.

Cichoski-Gordon died Dec. 28 at Mercy Hospital. She was born June 9, 1952 in Minneapolis to Donald Raymond and Dolores Caroline (Siwek) Scribner and was an account specialist.

She is survived by her husband, Steve; children, Scott (Val) Cichoski, Tiffany (Tony) Morgan, Brittany and Mandi Gordon; grandchildren, Matt and Anna Cichoski, Logan and Tatum Gehring; siblings, Marlene (Gary) Torgerson, Don (Lori) Scribner, Dave (Donna) Scribner; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dolores and Donald Scribner; and son-in-law, Gregory Gehring.

Pallbearers were Adam, Don III, Phil and Joseph Scribner, John and Michael Podany and Leah Grave.

Interment was at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Oak Grove. Arrangements were by Thurston-DeShaw Funeral Home, Andover.

 

Janet Johnson

Funeral service for Janet Patricia Johnson, 82, Anoka, took place Jan. 3 at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Anoka. Revs. Christopher and Sharon Fazel officiated.

Johnson died Dec. 20. She was born April 30, 1929 in Crookston to Robert McIntyre and Dorothy (Chappell) Douglass.

She is survived by her daughters, Sally (Marv) West and Jennifer (Mark) Bauer; grandchildren, Megan (Jon) Frolik, J.P. (Christina) West, Benjamin (Erica) Bauer and Matthew Bauer; great-grandson, Parker Frolik; brother, Mac (Marilyn) Douglass; sister, Margaret (Ed) Faherty; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; and parents, Robert and Dorothy Douglass.

Interment was at Crystal Lake Cemetery, Minneapolis. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

 

Corrine Leinen

Time of sharing for Corrine M. Leinen, East Bethel, took place Dec. 30 at Washburn-McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel.

Leinen died Dec. 25.

She is survived by her husband, Jim; son, Corey (fiancee Michelle); daughter, Becca (Peter) Hellegers; grandchildren, Grace and Sam; and other family and friends.

Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel.

 

Florence Olson

Funeral service for Florence Margaret Olson, 91, Coon Rapids, took place Dec. 29 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Mark Tiede officiated.

Olson died Dec. 24. She was born Sept. 24, 1920 in Minneapolis to Edward Harold and Florence Johanna (Nipp) Boos and was retired from housekeeping at Mercy Hospital.

She is survived by her daughters, Sharyn (Jim) Kriegel and Kay (James) Dussl; grandchildren, Dean (Wende) Kriegel, Ryan Dvoracek and Kristin (LeRoy) Draeger; great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Henry Kriegel, Peytyn Draeger; siblings, Charles, Thomas, Patricia, James and Jean; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald.

Interment was private at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

 

Donald Riesberg

Memorial service for Donald Jerome Riesberg, 77, Andover, took place Dec. 29 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Mike Van Sloun officiated.

Riesberg died Dec. 24. He was born April 30, 1934 in Minneapolis to Robert Reynolds and Lillian (Bill) Riesberg and was a retired heating and cooling salesman.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; children, Jeff (Melanie), Michael (Janet), Vicki (Mike) Jungbauer, Dan, Troy and Maria Riesberg; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Bob, Dick (Beverly) and Ken (Barbara); sister, Barbara (Clyde) Peterson; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Scott; and parents.

Interment was at Hillside Cemetery, Minneapolis. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

 

Betty Sivigny

Funeral service for Betty Lou Sivigny, 71, Pine City, took place Dec. 30 at Church of St. Patrick of Cedar Creek, Oak Grove. Rev. David N. Blume officiated.

Sivigny died Dec. 24 from emphysema at Mercy Hospital. She was born March 7, 1940 in Minneapolis to Richard Edward and Lorraine Louise (Petermen) Hirt and was a retired secretary at Honeywell.

She is survived by her husband, Oral; children, Theresa (David) Paulson, Julie (Thomas) Strauss, Ronald (Brenda) and Donald (Shelley); nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sisters, Pat Becker, Donna Lind and Sharon Fuchs.

Pallbearers were Brenden, Cameron and Landon Dowd-Sivigny, Alex Sivigny, Tony Camp, Dan Strauss and Brian Paulson.

Interment was at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Oak Grove. Arrangements were by Thurston-DeShaw Funeral Home, Andover.

 

Gloria Smith

Prayer service for Gloria F. Smith, 72, Coon Rapids, took place Dec. 29 at Washburn-McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel.

She is survived by her sons, Steve, Bryan and Brad; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother; and three sisters.

Eldore Steinbrecher

Funeral service for Eldore “Al” Steinbrecher 94, Anoka, took place Dec. 29 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Connie Tiede officiated.

Steinbrecher died Dec. 25.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores; children, Carolyn (Roger) Foss of Anoka, John (Mary Jane) of Belle Fourche, S.D., Mark Steinbrecher of Ramsey and Paul (Sharon) Steinbrecher of Cedar; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his grandchild, Angela Rae Foss; two brothers; and three sisters.

Pallbearers were Monte, Kody, Dustin, Shawn, Shad, Shane and Tiffany Steinbrecher, Maria Orlowski and Andrea Bouzrara.

Interment was at Baldwin Cemetery, Princeton. Arrangements were by Methven-Taylor Funeral Homes Anoka Chapel.

 

Debra Sundberg

Memorial service for Debra K. Sundberg, 56, East Bethel, took place Dec. 31 at Washburn-McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel.

Sundberg died Dec. 25. She was a supervisor for Rise Inc.

She is survived by her siblings, Sandy, Darryl (Marge), Gary (Debbie) and Jay (Lisa); best friend, Kris; and nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Margaret; three sisters; and three brothers.

Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel.

 

Dennis Urness

Private graveside service for Dennis G. Urness, 70, Blaine, will take place at a later date.

Urness died Dec. 25. He was born in Glenwood.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; son, Brian; daughter, Paula (Pete); grandsons, Jared and Matthew; Lisa (Todd) and their family; sisters, Gloria (Bill), Cindy (Randy), Barb (Bob), Sharon (Tim); brother, Ron; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Grant Urness and Evelyn Legaard.
