Tour a Coon Rapids fire station Jan. 28 and then search for a medallion for prizes.

That’s what the Coon Rapids Snowflake Days annual kids’ medallion hunt offers this year.

Open to children ages five to 10, the event begins at noon at Coon Rapids Fire Station 1, which is located on Egret Boulevard.

Families can tour the fire station and take some photos with firefighters before walking the trail from the fire station to Al Flynn Park, near Lilli Putt, where the medallion hunt will take place.

There will be two hunts –  one for girls at 1 p.m. and the other for boys at 1:30 p.m.

The winner of each hunt will be awarded a gift certificate to Erik’s Bike Shop, courtesy of Coon Rapids Firefighters Local 1935, the sponsor of the event.

Participants are asked to park at Al Flynn Park, near the playground equipment, then walk the trail to the fire station for the noon tour since there is no parking allowed in the fire station parking lot.
