Snowflake Days schedule

Coon Rapids Snowflake Days 2012 begins Saturday, Jan. 28 and runs through Saturday, Feb. 11.

Following is the schedule:

• Friday, Jan. 27 and Saturday, Jan. 28: Inaugural Mayor’s Cup Simulator Golf Tournament, Bunker Hills Clubhouse. Go to www.coonrapidssnowflakedays.com for more information.

• Saturday, Jan. 28: Kids’ Medallion Hunt, Coon Rapids Fire Station 1 and Al Flynn Park, free. Event is open to children five-10 years of age. Meet at Fire Station #1 on Egret Boulevard at noon; park at Al Flynn Park near the playground equipment and walk the trail over to the fire station. Girls only hunt will begin at 1 p.m.; boys only hunt is at 1:30 p.m. Event and prizes sponsored by Coon Rapids Professional Firefighters Local 1935.

• Saturday, Jan. 28: Chili and Hot Dog Feed sponsored by the Epiphany Knights of Columbus from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Epiphany Catholic Church cafeteria. Free-will offering with a request that each person bring at least one non-perishable food item for the food shelf. For more information call 763-755-1020.

• Saturday, Jan. 28: Sock Hop Community Dance, hosted by the Coon Rapids Junior Royalty and the Snowflake Association, at Epiphany Catholic School gymnasium from 6 to 9 p.m. There is no charge.

• Tuesday, Jan. 31: Seniors Snowflake Fest, 10:30 a.m., sponsored by Klein Bank of Coon Rapids, at the Coon Rapids Civic Center. There is no pre-registration or cost to attend.

• Wednesday, Feb. 1: Seniors Snowflake Bingo, 10:30 a.m., sponsored by Culvers of Coon Rapids, at the Coon Rapids Civic Center. Call 763-767-6473 to reserve a spot.

• Thursday, Feb. 2, CODA Dinner Show presented by Coon Rapids Senior Services at the Coon Rapids Civic Center. Doors open at 10:30 a.m., the music starts at 11 a.m.

• Saturday, Feb. 4: Coon Rapids Junior Royalty Pageant, Coon Rapids High School Auditorium, 1 p.m. The cost is $8.

• Saturday, Feb. 4: Miss Coon Rapids Scholarship Pageant. Coon Rapids High  School Auditorium, 6 p.m. The cost is $15 main floor reserved or $9 balcony.

• Sunday, Feb. 5: Belgian Waffle Breakfast, 8 a.m. to noon, served by the Coon Rapids North Star Lions Club at the Coon Rapids VFW. Tickets are $7 per person, age five and under eat for free. Proceeds will support the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) program at Coon Rapids High School. Tickets can be purchased from FCA members or e-mail dianebuszta@yahoo.com.

• Saturday, Feb. 11: Children’s Carnival at Epiphany School, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., sponsored by the Coon Rapids Snowflake Association and hosted by the newly crowned 2012 Coon Rapids Junior Royalty families.
