College Update for the week ending Feb. 3

• Brett Tester, College of St. Scholastica junior forward and Andover graduate had a double-double with 14 points, 11 rebounds in a 74-66 win over University of Minnesota-Morris Jan. 28.

• Jeremy Hecker, College of St. Scholastica junior nordic skier and Andover graduate had a historic day at Green Acres recreation area in Lake Elmo Jan. 29. The Saints grabbed their first Central Collegeiate Ski Association (CCSA) team and individual win in the US Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) SuperTour 20 kilometer freestyle persuit. Hecker won a furious race for the program’s first win by 6.2 seconds. St. Scholastica won the team title 74-73 over Michigan Tech. One day earlier, Hecker posted a fourth place finish in the10km mass start classic race in 27:52.7 to place 21st overall and fourth in the college race.

• Maggie Bair, College of St. Scholastica sophomore sprinter/hurdler and Blaine graduate not only won the 60-meter hurdles in 9.12 seconds at the Warren Bowlus Open at the University of Wisconsin-Stout Jan. 28 but opened with a meet record 8.09 time in the prelims. She was one of three Saints to win an event in the indoor track and field competition.
