As the new St. Francis public works/police department building construction continues, the St. Francis City Council unanimously approved two new contracts Feb. 21.
Councilmember Jeff Sandoval was absent from the meeting.
Signarama was awarded a $9,896 contract to create the building’s facade sign.
Originally, the bid came in at $17,646, but the city’s construction management company, Amcon, worked with the company to cut costs.
By changing the type of lettering used and eliminating the monument sign for the building, the contract cost was cut by $7,750.
The second $14,561 contract was awarded to Tiffin Metal Product for the police personnel lockers.
