The free show begins at 9 a.m. and concludes at 3 p.m. The Andover YMCA/Community Center is located at the northwest corner of Crosstown and Hanson boulevards at 15200 Hanson Blvd. N.W.

This is the 14th year of the show and once again the floor will be full of many different types of exhibitors to answer questions on any type of indoor or outdoor home improvement project.

The cities of Andover, Anoka and Coon Rapids, which cosponsor the event, will have city staff available to answer questions about obtaining city permits before completing certain projects.

City foresters and Minnesota Department of Resources staff can answer questions about trees, landscaping and other natural resources on properties, while police and fire officials will be there to answer safety questions.

The Master Gardeners of Anoka County, Karen Skepper from the Anoka County Community Development Department and the Minnesota Center for Energy and Environment are a few of the other exhibitors that will be available to answer questions.

The first 300 kids will get to put together a variety of wooden crafts donated to the home improvement show by Lowes of Coon Rapids.

Bebergs Landscape Supplies of Andover will let kids construct small boats out of recyclable material on a first come, first serve basis. The kids can then race their boats in a stream set up at Bebergs’ booth.

Bob-FM will be broadcasting live from the show from 9 to 10 a.m.

Visitors are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food or monetary donation to the show to help out the Anoka County Brotherhood Council (ACBC) Food Shelf of Anoka.

Those who fill out a survey before leaving the home improvement show will have an opportunity to win a $100 gift card from Lowes of Coon Rapids. Six gift cards will be distributed. People do not have to be present during the drawing to win the prize.
