Anoka Post celebrates Legion birthday

The Anoka American Legion Auxiliary hosted a birthday dinner at the post club rooms March 10 to celebrate the 93rd birthday of the American Legion. Hosts for the evening were Post Commander Fadi Awajane and Unit President Norah Wyman. Special guests for the evening were Department American Legion Auxiliary President Linda Thompson, Department Adjutant Randy Tesdahl, Honorary Junior Auxiliary President Amelia Tesdahl and Detachment Commander Gary Semmel.

The event included recognition of the Past Unit 102 Auxiliary presidents and the past Post 102 commanders and the 50 plus years members. Junior Auxiliary Member Leah Newman participated by doing sign language during the Pledge of Allegiance and also led the attendees in singing Happy Birthday to the American Legion.
