Epiphany Music Ministry will present “His Amazing Love: The Journey of Christ Passion, Death and Resurrection.”
The fifth annual pre-Easter concert to be performed on two days – Friday, March 30, 7:30 p.m., at Epiphany Church in Coon Rapids and Sunday, April 1, 4 p.m., at Church of St. Timothy in Blaine – will be presented through scripture and song. Free will offering appreciated.
About 100 adult singers from area church choirs, a youth choir from Church of Epiphany and Church of St. Timothy will perform. The group is the largest ever to perform in this event.
New this year, St. Timothy’s Signing Choir will use sign language to interpret two or three songs. Singers in all choirs combined range in age from third-graders to octogenarians. A 25-piece orchestra will also perform.
“The concert is to prepare people’s hearts for Holy Week,” said Elizabeth Grefsheim, director.
Grefsheim and Therese Jorgensen are performance arrangers, while Bill Steffl wrote the script.
Expect to hear a variety of pieces with such favorites as “Praise to the Lord Almighty” and “Mary Did You Know?”
The concert is about one hour in length. Refreshments will be served after the concert.
Grefsheim estimates a total of about 3,000 audience members attended both concerts last year.
Church of Epiphany is at 11001 Hanson Blvd. N.W., Coon Rapids. Church of St. Timothy is at 707 89th Ave. N.E. in Blaine.
