A & A Sauna again raided; arrest made

Blaine Police raided the A. & A. Sauna, 8518 Central Ave. NE., March 9 at 1:30 p.m.

The Blaine Police and Mayor had received complaints about the operation and about three weeks ago the police set up an undercover operation. With this information the police proceeded to raid the sauna Thursday, carried out by Blaine Sgt. Richard Moran and Sgt. Detective Harry Anderson and the undercover agent from a neighboring city.

Civic center, ice arena plans move forward

The North Suburban Civic Center and Ice Arena facility is moving toward reality and this week Joe Quinn, president of the Blaine District 11 Hockey Association and interim president of the North Suburban Civic Center and Ice Arena board unveiled an artists concept of the building in the Aquatore Park setting near Blaine City Hall.

Quinn’s enthusiasm for the city hall site, picked last week by the Blaine City Council and confirmed officially by the council at Thursday’s meeting, is unbounded.

State title at stake

The competition was fierce as Spring Lake Park High School hosted the Opportunities in Emergency Care state championship last weekend. More than 20 teams came from all across the state to compete for the title.

Teams from Spring Lake Park did well. The local OEC teams captured second through fifth places. Osseo took the championship.
