Baby who fell from Coon Rapids window is unhurt

A baby fell out of a third-floor window at a Coon Rapids apartment complex Saturday afternoon, but suffered no apparent injuries.

“The mother calls him her miracle baby,” said Capt. John Hattstrom, Coon Rapids Police.

According to Hattstrom, police were called to the Camelot Square apartment complex on Raven Street shortly before 2 p.m. March 24.

The baby boy, 18 months old, had been standing on some furniture, leaning against a screen window, which gave way and he fell, Hattstrom said,

Fortunately, the baby landed on a grassy surface, he said.

The boy was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released, Hattstrom said.

Hattstrom talked to the baby’s mother Monday, who reported that her son had no sign of injuries, although they were waiting for any delayed symptoms, he said.
