There were green eggs and ham cookies in the lunchroom and a cat in the hat craft making children laugh at the St. Francis Elementary School carnival.

The March 24 Dr. Seuss-themed event filled the school halls with children eager to explore the options for fun, from temporary tattoos, an inflatable bounce house, fishing for letters and crafts.

There were also tacos in a bag, a raffle and silent auction baskets.

Money raised goes for technology, field trips and supplies requested by teachers and staff, said Kelly Sullivan, SFE APT chairperson.
