Springbrook Nature Center presents its annual Spring Fling Saturday, April 7, noon – 4 p.m.
Venture into the fresh air for some fun and games.
“It’s a great way to spend time outdoors,” said naturalist Tara Rogness “It’s a fun way to learn how whimsical nature can be.”
Visit such favorite characters as Little Bo Peep, Alice in Wonderland, the Three Pigs and Little Red Riding Hood in Storybook Gardens on the Trail of Discovery.
Rapunzel is new on the trail this year. You might recall her from the movie “Tangled.” Flynn Rider, Rapunzel’s love interest, will be there, too.
Also, this year for the first time, Springbrook is giving a sneak peek into its summer camp offerings. Children get a snippet of camp life when they crawl through tubes or jump on inflatables. They can participate in a pond study – even fish in a pond. Springbrook’s summer staff will be on hand to greet kids.
Cock-A-Doodle Zoo, a petting zoo with rabbits and a kangaroo, are back, too. Get this. This year, a monkey will be available for your viewing pleasure.
Kids, venture into Rabbit’s Garden of Eatin’ to do a bit of gardening. Plant a seed. Water it. Then play in the candy composter. Stop off at the harvest station and trade your pretend carrots in for some candy corn. And finally, meet the giant rabbit. Get your photo taken with him.
Cost is $6 per person at the gate. Five dollars per person when paid in advance at the nature center. New this year, on advance ticket purchases, receive four free carnival game tickets.
