Grace Baltich planning run for open House District 36A seat
After the retirement announcement of Rep. Denise Dittrich, DFL-Champlin/Coon Rapids, Grace Baltich of Champlin has announced that she will run for the Minnesota Legislature in House District 36A.
“It would be an honor to serve the people of Champlin and Coon Rapids filling the shoes of Rep. Dittrich advocating for better schools, a growing economy and protecting the middle class” said Baltich.
“This past legislative session proved that Republicans at the Capitol consistently ignore the needs of the middle class and choose instead to push an extreme anti-jobs agenda.”
According to Baltich, the example of her mother, Joan Molenaar, who served several terms as a Champlin City Council member, has drawn her to public service.
“My family has taught me that serving your community is important, that I should put the needs of others before myself,” Baltich said.
“I want to be able to pass those values onto my daughter, Eva.”
Born and raised in Champlin, Baltich graduated from Champlin Park High School before obtaining her bachelor’s degree at the College of St. Benedict and master’s degree at the University of Minnesota.
She lives in Champlin with her husband, Jim, and their daughter, Eva.
