Robert Therres, public services manager, said the city’s request for proposal (RFP) for the project included management, design and construction services.

Aquatore Park Field No. 1 will be taken out of commission this summer so the Fogerty Arena curling project’s construction plan can remain on schedule.

During the council’s April 5 meeting, Therres showed city leaders a map of the softball project area. Field No. 1’s new location will be north of Field No. 2.

The project schedule will be aggressive, Therres said.

“We are looking at working closely with the Fogerty Arena people, trying to stay in front of them and get this field ready to play in 2013,” he said.

According to Jim Kappelhoff, park and recreation director, 48- to 50-foot high poles near the softball field need to be removed so the curling arena construction area can be expanded.
