Aldi store in Coon Rapids is robbed

A Coon Rapids grocery store was robbed Sunday evening.

A lone male entered the Aldi store at 3410 Northdale Blvd. shortly before 6 p.m. and handed the cashier a note.

According to Det. Bill Steiner, Coon Rapids Police, the note stated, “I want money, I don’t want to hurt anyone.”

No weapon was shown or implied, Steiner said.

The employee handed over a handful of cash and the man left the store on foot, he said.

The suspect was described as a white male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, with blue eyes and dark hair. He was wearing a dark hoodie.
