Oak Grove boy killed in motor-cross accident

Nickolas Paul Engler, 9, of Oak Grove was killed Friday, April 20 following a motor-cross accident.

The accident happened on the 19600 block of Dogwood St. N.W. in Oak Grove.

Anoka County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded at 6:55 p.m. Resuscitative efforts were done at the scene, but they were unsuccessful and Engler was pronounced dead.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.

Funeral service for Engler will take place Wednesday, April 25 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 19921 Nightingale St. N.W., Oak Grove.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 24 at the church and one hour prior to the Mass April 25.

Engler is survived by his parents, Jeaninne and Rob Engler; brother, Andy Wayne; grandmothers, Judi Engler and Marilyn Anderson; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Harold Engler and Durwyn Anderson.

A memorial fund has been set up in Engler’s name at Village Bank in St. Francis, 3350 Bridge St. N.W. For more information, call 763-753-3007.
