A meet and greet with the winning couple from season three of CMT’s “Sweet Home Alabama” cable television show takes place this evening (Friday, April 27) at Cityside Bar and Grill, Coon Rapids, from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m.
There will be pictures and autographs with the couple, Minnesota native Jeremiah James Korfe and Paige Duke, the southern belle on the show, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Then Korfe, a farmer from Clarissa, who is also the lead singer of the band From Joyce, will perform a set from 9:30 to 10:30 p.m.
Korfe has toured with his band at the Summer and Winter X games, the Mountain Dew and Warp tours and collaborated with musicians such as Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam and John Mayer.
“Sweet Home Alabama” is the country version of “The Bachelor,” where 11 city guys and 11 country boys vie for the heart of the lead, in this case Duke.
Duke, who grew up in South Carolina and went to college in Georgia, is now in Minnesota as a spokesperson for Kruger Farms in Starbuck, a hunting and fishing outfitting company that does guided trips and sponsors many events, including pro bass fishing contests.
The couple have been together since the show’s taping ended in December 2011.
They appeared together at the 2012 ACM Awards in Las Vegas, Nev.
Cityside Bar and Grill is located at 133 Coon Rapids Blvd.
