Despite the weather there were some highly competitive races. In fact, St. Francis’ own Maggie Ewen broke the meet record for shot put and for discus.

The St. Francis invitational meet records in both boys’ and girls’ 4×800 meter relays were broken as well.

Elk River girls Anna Haugen, Gabriella Jung, Abby McDonald and Samantha Hendricks broke the girls’ record, finishing in 9:55.71.

Coon Rapids’ Elise Weimholt, Kaitlyn Benson, Hannah Davis and Lindsey Johnson finished fourth in that race at 10:30.46.

In the boys’ 4×800 meter relay the record was broken by Mahtomedi’s Noah Kirkland, Ryan Kirkland, Alex Medved and Cal Knickerbocker, who finished in 8:16.73.

Spring Lake Park/St. Anthony Village were second in that race, posting 8:23.62. That relay team comprised Isaac Krause, Nathan Woods, Michael Rosenberg and Chris Lawson.

Coon Rapids finished third in 8:41.48 in a race that was run by Marjace Crawford, Josh Fleck, David Dujmovic and Jackson Bednar.

St. Francis was a close fourth in 8:43.19 with Aaron Jacques, Paul Kastenbauer, Mark Worthington and Ben Burdorf.

“It was great to see all of the competitors compete despite the weather conditions,” said St. Francis co-head coach Andy Forbort. “Both our teams did well, as expected.”

Team totals had the Saints girls finishing third, Spring Lake Park/St. Anthony were eighth, Coon Rapids 10th and Legacy Christian Academy 12th.
