Motorcycle rally raising money for cancer

Team Jolene’s Jugs, participating in the Twin Cities Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk for the Cure will be holding a fund-raising motorcycle run and beer bash on Saturday, May 12.

The “Bikes & Beer 4 Boobs” event will take off from Anoka’s River City Saloon, 201 Jackson St.

Registration is from 9 to 10 a.m. with the ride running from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A beer bust will follow at River City Saloon from 2 to 6 p.m.

The cost is $15 for a single rider or $20 for a couple. The ride includes a stop in Paradise Landing, Wis.

Non bikers are welcome to attend the beer bust, which features a live band, silent auction and dunk tank. The cost is $10 for a cup.

Organizer Nicole Johnson has partnered with River City owner Holly Brezinka to fund-raise for the 3-Day walk. This is Johnson’s second year participating. She said she was inspired to join in the 60-mile walk over three days because she has a couple of cousins and co-workers who are breast cancer survivors.
