A Ham Lake man has been accused in Anoka County District Court of assaulting and threatening a woman at a residence in Ham Lake where they were both staying.
Troy Alan Birkholz, 40, 1527 143rd Lane N.E., was arraigned in court April 27 on felony third-degree assault and terroristic threats charges.
According to the complaint, the woman and her husband were staying with friends for a few days and one of the people at the residence was Birkholz.
April 25, the woman alleged that after she and her husband had got into an argument and he left the room, Birkholz kicked in the door, began yelling at her, then struck her multiple times in the head and face with his fists before kicking her multiple times.
She alleged that Birkholz threatened to stab, kill and bury her.
Her husband came back in the room and took her to the hospital, where she required stitches to her face and may have suffered a fractured jaw, according to the complaint.
In a statement, the woman’s husband alleged he did not see Birkholz assault his wife, but he did hear Birkholz yelling at her and saw him standing over her.
