East Bethel woman dies after hitting back of semi

A 29-year-old East Bethel woman died Monday afternoon (May 7) after the vehicle she was driving left the roadway and struck the rear end of a semi tractor trailer, the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office identified Nicole Lindsey as the victim of the crash.

The sheriff’s office said it responded to the area of Viking Boulevard and Rochester Street in East Bethel at 1:10 p.m. Monday.

Police believe the 29-year-old woman was traveling east on Viking Boulevard when she apparently left the roadway and struck the semi parked on the shoulder of the road.

The woman was airlifted to the Hennepin County Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the semi was not hurt.

The accident remains under investigation.
