Champlin man killed in Highway 10 collision in Ramsey

An early morning accident May 4 in Ramsey resulted in the death of a Champlin man.

Badaso Hassen, 20, died at the scene of the accident, which happened at 3 a.m. on Highway 10, west of Sunfish Lake Boulevard.

According to Ramsey Police Chief Jim Way, Hassen ran a stop sign as he was leaving the Oak Terrace Estates Trailer Park, located on the north side of Highway 10.

Hassen was driving across westbound lanes of Highway 10 and drove across the path of a westbound 2000 Ford Expedition, which struck the Saturn near the driver’s door.

Hassen’s passenger, Carmen Johnson, 19, Coon Rapids, was taken to the hospital and is listed in stable condition.

The Expedition was driven Robert Parkos, 35, Maple Grove, He suffered minor injuries, according to Way.

The accident is being investigated by the Minnesota State Patrol.
