A 24-year-old Anoka man is facing a felony harassment/stalking charge in Anoka County District Court.
Kyle Trenten McGuire, 551 Jefferson St., Anoka, was arraigned on the charge April 24 for allegedly harassing a Ramsey woman and her family.
The woman had called the Ramsey Police Department April 21 around 11:30 a.m. to report McGuire had called repeatedly over a two-day period and threatened to kill her and her family, according to the complaint.
McGuire had been arrested March 31 and then charged with a gross misdemeanor for similar conduct and a protection order had been issued prohibiting contact with the woman.
The woman alleged she believed McGuire had been driving past her home at all hours of the day and during an April 20 phone call, McGuire had accurately described the vehicles parked in her driveway.
The woman also alleged McGuire had been in contact with her friends, the father of her children and her family members and threatening to “destroy” her life.
He had also posted Facebook messages that were untrue and was spreading rumors in effort to destroy her friendships, the complaint alleges.
The woman showed officers her cell phone logs and text messages from McGuire, according to the complaint.
During one of the calls, the woman said McGuire allegedly said he was going “slit” her throat.
He allegedly threatened to kill her and her family April 21 and told her he would be at her home by 1 p.m.
According to the woman’s father, who heard McGuire’s alleged threat, the McGuire has threatened to beat him up several times in the past and he does not believe McGuire is stable.
Bail for McGuire was set at $35,000.
McGuire’s next court appearance is scheduled for May 24.
