The event was at the Lilli Putt Entertainment Center on Coon Rapids Boulevard.

Bean bag toss teams competed for prizes with first- , second- and third-place finishers winning cash.

Among those taking part in the event were Miss Coon Rapids 2012 Samantha Phillippi, who will be competing in the Miss Minnesota Scholarship Pageant in June; 2011 Miss Coon Rapids Megan Ehlert; and Miss Minnesota Outstanding Teen Bailey Wachholz, who traveled from her home in Nisswa to Coon Rapids for the event.

Proceeds from the entry fee of $30 per team plus a raffle will go to support scholarships for the young women competing for the Miss Coon Rapids title.

In addition, there were cash prizes with the purchase of $5 tickets and prizes were also given away from donated items to the tournament.

“We had such a great turn out that the event started at 11 a.m. and went until 6 p.m.,” Phillippi posted on her blog on her website.

The winners of the tournament and the 50-50 donated their cash prizes back to the pageant.
