Church of the Epiphany, Coon Rapids hosts its annual parish celebration, Springfest, this weekend.
The event begins Friday, May 18, from 5 to 10:30 p.m., and continues Saturday, May 19, 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., and Sunday, May 20, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
All three days there will be carnival rides and games, kids’ games, an outdoor food tent, beer tent, quilt and cash raffle, bingo, used book sale, jewelry sale and photo studio.
The headline entertainment for Friday evening (7 to 10 p.m.) is Hitchville, a Minneapolis-based country and rock band, then Saturday night from 7 to 10:30 p.m., the Johnny Holm Band, one of the most widely known and traveled groups in America, will perform.
Entrance fee for this evening (May 18) and tomorrow (May 19) after 5 p.m. is $5 per person or $15 per family.
There is no charge to get into Springfest before 5 p.m. tomorrow, nor on Sunday.
Other activities tomorrow (May 19) include a Princess Party with Miss Coon Rapids Samantha Phillippi from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and entertainment by the Life Teen Band from 12:30 to 3 p.m.
In addition, there will be a bike safety round-up tomorrow (May 19) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Faith Lutheran Church parking lot, which is directly across 111th Avenue from Epiphany.
There is no charge for the event, which is for beginner riders ages five through eight.
Sunday activities include a talent show at noon and the raffle drawing for cash prizes at 5 p.m. with a first prize of $5,000, second prize of $2,500 and a third prize of $1,000 plus three $500 prizes.
A chili dinner will be served this evening (May 18) from 5 to 7 p.m. with a steak dinner tomorrow (May 19) from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Cost for each is $12 adults and $6 for children.
Sunday a chicken dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost is $9 adults and $6 children.
