Blaine girls take second in NWSC conference golf tournament

Sunny skies and shining fairways greeted girls golfing in the NWSC conference championship at Bunker Hills Golf Course Friday.

Blaine girls finished second in the conference behind the champion Elk River Elks.

Andover, Anoka and Coon Rapids girls finished fourth, eighth and 10th, respectively, of the 11 Northwest Suburban Conference teams competing in the tournament.

Named all-conference were Sierra Langley of Andover and Hannah and Caroline Andrews of Blaine.

Boys’ and girls’ golf sectionals began Wednesday and Thursday (May 28 and 31). Anoka, Blaine, Coon Rapids and Spring Lake Park boys’ and girls’ teams competed May 31 in section 5AAA contests at Bunker Hills. Andover and St. Francis boys and girls competed May 28 and 31 in section 7AAA contests in Hinckley.
