All three incumbents have filed for re-election to the Anoka City Council.
Anoka Mayor Phil Rice, along with Councilmembers Mark Freeburg and Steve Schmidt will run in the 2012 general election.
So far, Rice has been challenged by Barbara Deeds Baldwin, who is a member of the city’s Economic Development Commission and had an unsuccessful bid for the mayor in the 2010 election.
As of Wednesday, Pat Walker was the lone challenger to the incumbents for the two at-large council seats. Walker is a member of Anoka’s Housing and Redevelopment Authority and is often a vocal citizen, commenting on city council action and open forums.
If more than two candidates for the mayor’s seat, or four for the two available city council positions, the city will hold a primary election on Aug. 14. The general election is Nov. 6.
Filings for office close on June 5.
