Individuals interested in filling the vacant District 6 seat on the Anoka-Hennepin School Board have until Wednesday, June 6 at 4 p.m. to submit an application.
Citizens living in District 6 can apply by submitting an application and resume. To be eligible for appointment, individuals must have been a resident of District 6 for 30 days at the time of their appointment and be an eligible voter age 21 or older.
Applications are available on the school district’s website at www.anoka.k12.mn.us/schoolboard or by calling 763-506-1002.
Members of the school board will interview candidates in June and are expected to approve an appointment to the position July 9.
District 6 incudes the east portion of Coon Rapids and the southwest portion of Andover. A map of the revised election district, which was approved by the school board in April, is available on the school district’s website as well.
The District 6 seat vacated by the resignation of Kathy Tingelstad.
The board will interview candidates in late June and is expected to make an appointment for the seat July 9. The new board member will serve approximately 18 months until the first Monday of January 2014.
