Stephen Acord

Memorial service for Stephen D. Acord, 63, of Norman, Okla. formerly of Coon Rapids and Andover, will take place today (Friday, June 15) at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo.

Acord died May 26 at the VA Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Okla. He was born July 21, 1948 in Kansas City, Mo., and served the U.S. Navy from 1968-1980. He was a resident of Coon Rapids and Andover for over 28 years.

He is survived by his sons, Joseph of Oklahoma City and James of Norman; daughter-in-law, Stephanie (Joseph) of Oklahoma City; granddaughter, Courtney (Joseph) of Oklahoma City; brother, Ronald of Advance, Mo.; sisters, Linda and Patty, both of Kansas City, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his father, Denny; mother, Betty; and sister Janet.

 

Roy Bulson

Funeral service for Roy E. Bulson, 83, Coon Rapids, formerly of Blaine, took place June 6 at Faith Lutheran Church, Coon Rapids.

He was a member of the Coon Rapids Senior Center.

He is survived by his wife, Paula; daughters, Roxanne (Tim) Truen and Brenda (Jay) Vaughn; grandchildren, Allisa, Gabrielle, Madelyn, Jeff, Sam and Sophie; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and one brother.

Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel.

 

Donald Christensen

Funeral service for Donald H. Christensen, 93, St. Louis Park, took place June 8 at Westwood Lutheran Church, St. Louis Park.

He worked for Premier Farnell for over 45 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Carol (William) Farb; grandsons, Michael (Kelley) Farb of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Jason Farb of St. Louis Park; great-grandchildren, Paul, Emmaline, Alexis, Alexander and Perrin Farb; sister-in-law, Lois Christensen; and nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his infant son, Donald; and wife, Ethel.

Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel.

 

Julianne Colich

Funeral service for Julianne “Julie” Colich, 49, Blaine, took place June 5 at was held at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, Duluth.

Colich died May 30. She was born Nov. 29, 1962 in Duluth to Michael and Marlene Colich.

She is survived by her mother, Marlene (Steve) Colich-Balach; brother and sister-in-law, Steven (Stacy) Colich; nephews, Michael and Marc; niece, Christiana; and great-nephew, Nicholas.

She was preceded by her father, Michael “Sonny” Colich.

Interment was at Oneota Cemetery. Arrangements with Kozlak-Radulovich Blaine Chapel.

 

May Hathaway

Memorial service for May L. Hathaway, 89, Lino Lakes, took place June 7 at Washburn-McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel.

Hathaway died May 26. She was born June 6, 1922 in Chicago, Ill.

She is survived by her children, Ken (Randi), Rick (Laura), Bill (Terry); grandchildren, Dave, Josh (Jill), Jennifer (Eric) and Kari (Tim); and great-grandchildren, Elliot, Cora and Noah.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard K. Hathaway; and brother, Bob Siegler.

Interment was private. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel.

 

Kathy Heller

Burial service for Kathy I. Heller, 78, Coon Rapids, took place June 12 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Heller died June 3. She was a long-standing employee of Western Electric and later Honeywell.

She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Heller-Dyer (Darren); son-in-law, Archie Jorgenson; grandchildren, Jon Lawrence, Nicole Jorgenson, Michael Dyer and Alexander Eiola; sister, Sandra Davey (Gary); and nieces, Lisa Summerville, Suzanne Scrivano, Jeanette Flowers and Lynda Hoecherl.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen; daughter, Kathleen Jorgenson; and brother, Alden Freeman.

Craig Johnson

Memorial service for Craig Joel Johnson, 67, Edina, took place June 15 at Washburn-McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel.

He is survived by his children, Chad (Jeny) Johnson, Teresa Johnson and Jennifer (Derek) Neumann; grandchildren, Justin and Jackson; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joel Carl and Margaret Johnson.

Vivian Nelson

Memorial service for Vivian P. Nelson, 91, Blaine, will took place tomorrow (Saturday, June 16), 10 a.m., at Washburn-McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel.

Nelson died May 15.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald.

Cathy Norton

Funeral service for Cathy Lorraine Norton, 64, Osakis, formerly of Anoka, took place June 14 at Church of St. Patrick of Cedar Creek. Rev. David N. Blume officiated.

Norton died June 9 at Douglas County Hospital, Alexandria. She was born Nov. 20, 1947 in Minneapolis to Elmer Octave and Lorraine Amanda (Couronne) Caouette and was a retired 20-year employee of Anoka County, where she was a child support specialist.

She is survived by her husband, Dan; children, Todd (Melanie), Tammy (Steve) Berg and Matthew (Stephanie); 13 grandchildren; and brother, Dennis (Jenny) Caouette.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers and one sister.

Interment was at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

 

Dorothy 0’Brien

Memorial service for Dorothy M. O’Brien, 92, Mound, took place June 7 at Church of St. Timothy, Blaine.

She is survived by her children, Patricia (Marlo) Sandin, John (Linda) O’Brien Jr., Michael (Stephanie) O’Brien; grandchildren, Victoria (Keith) Horejsi, Michelle (David) Snell, Gary (Cathleen) Sandin, Christopher (Ashley) O’Brien; five great- grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond (Nancy) Fitch; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded by her husband, John; grandson, Dustin Moen; two brothers; one sister.

Sandra Packenham

Funeral service for Sandra Jo (Keller) Packenham, 70, Blaine and Chetek, Wis., took place June 5 at Kozlak-Radulovich Blaine Chapel.

Packenham died June 2. She was born Dec. 9, 1941 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, to Robert and Joanne Keller.

She is survived by her husband, Richard; children, Ellen (Packenham) Stanley, Thomas (Jill) Packenham and Linda (Michael) Soyett; grandchildren, Michael, Rachael and Maxim; and sister, Cheryl (Robert) Miller.

Interment was private. Arrangements were by Kozlak-Radulovich Blaine Chapel.

 

Ralph Reinfeld

Funeral service for Ralph David Reinfeld, 56, Tallahassee, Fla., formerly of Coon Rapids, took place June 3 at Grace Lutheran Church, Tallahassee.

Reinfeld died unexpectedly May 29. He was born in Duluth and was employed at Pitney Bowes.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanie; daughter, Mandy; son, Scott and his wife Andrea; mother, Moreen Sprungman; sister, Carolyn Reinfeld; brothers, Bill and Ray Reinfeld; three nieces and one nephew; and many other family and friends.

 

Betty Rosin

Memorial service for Betty Lou L. Rosin, 83, Coon Rapids, took place June 14 at Washburn-McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel.

She is survived by her husband, Ben; sons, Jon (Melanie) and Gary; grandchildren, Nicholas, Sarah, Jonathan and Zachary; sisters, Ella May Grey (Tom) and Ruth Rickard; and other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Chauncey Scott

Funeral service for Chauncey V. Scott, 88, Blaine, took place June 13 at Methven-Taylor Funeral Home, Blaine.

Scott died June 10. He was a United States Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Joann; children, Nancy (Dennis) Grandprey, Calvin (Mary), Brian (Jeanne Eilers); grandchildren, Jennifer and Nicole; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Perry Smith

Funeral service for Perry Alan Smith, 54, Coon Rapids, took place June 8 at Nowthen Alliance Church. Rev. Maurice Russell officiated.

Smith died June 4. He was born May 6, 1958 in Robbinsdale to David Lee and Helen Margie (Martin) Smith.

He is survived by his parents, David and Helen; brother, Jim (Robyn); sister, Koreen (Chris) Menon; and nieces and nephews.

Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

 

Jay Weidell

Memorial service for Jay E. Weidell, 49, Andover, took place June 13 at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, Blaine.

Weidell died June 7.

He is survived by his wife, Sue; son, Pfc. Christopher (Marissa); daughter, Jayme; in-laws, Richard and Marlys DeRoy and family; and many friends.
