The time of the year has come where the East Bethel Scholarship Pageant is looking for young women from the community to participate in the annual program.
The East Bethel Scholarship Pageant is a non-profit organization that provides young women the opportunity to participate in community service and to be goodwill ambassadors for the city and surrounding communities.
They accept applications for young women ages 16-21. Those selected will travel throughout the state of Minnesota, receive an educational scholarship and learn valuable skills such as public speaking and interviewing. Miss East Bethel will have the opportunity to participate in the Queen of the Lakes program through the Minneapolis Aquatennial in July 2013.
This is the second year the East Bethel Scholarship Pageant has had the Junior Princess program. This is for girls ages 11-13. They will participate in the program along with Miss East Bethel candidates. The selected girl will receive a savings bond for educational use.
The pageant is also looking for candidates for the Little Miss program for girls ages six-eight by July 1. The selected girl will travel with the older girls and receive a savings bond.
Pageant rehearsals are in June and July. Candidate events include a car wash June 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., an ice cream social July 15 at 1 p.m., community service at Suite Living and traveling with the current ambassadors to a coronation and parade in Isanti.
This year’s pageant will be held July 21 in conjunction with East Bethel Booster Day. All candidates will be in the Booster Day parade . Following the coronation of the new ambassadors, the first appearance will be at the firemen’s dance that evening.
Candidates can come from the Forest Lake School District, Andover schools in addition to School District 15, St. Francis. If attending school in one of these districts, you are eligible to become a candidate for the East Bethel Scholarship Program.
