The book centers on Minneapolis coffee shop owner Shay and her ill-mannered friend Baz who steals a stuffed snake, not expecting it to be filled with money.

Expect quirky characters, trigger-happy thugs, a rowdy rescue mission, a bungled burglary and a whole lot more delivered in humorous fashion. “Hide and Snake” was released June 8 and follows on the heels of Chandler’s first mystery novel “Bingo Barge Murder,” which has sold about 3,000 copies to date, according to Chandler.

Chandler has been named finalist for a mystery award from the Golden Crown Literary Society and for the Ann Bannon Popular Choice Award for her first book. (Winners will be announced June 16.)

Chandler is now busy working on her third novel in a series “Pickle in the Middle Murder.”

“Hide and Snake” is 261 pages and costs $14.95. It is available at Barnes & Noble and Once Upon a Crime book stores in Minneapolis. Also available online at Amazon and at Barnes & Noble. The e-book version may be purchased on most e-book platforms.
