Local amateur qualifies for state open golf tournament

In the latest qualifying round for the 95th Minnesota State Open Championship, amateur Chase Hahne from the Links at Northfork made the cut.

Last week’s qualifying round, staged at Chisago Lakes Golf Course in Lindstrom had Hahne finishing just one stroke back of the winner, PGA professional Scott Cole from New Richmond Golf Course.

Cole finished with a round of 4-under par, 68.

Also advancing were Josh Angrimson from Chisago Lakes Golf Course, Paul Webskowski from Rush Creek Golf Course, Michael Minichino from Chisago Lakes Golf Course and Ty Liljander from Purple Hawk Country Club.

Also competing in the qualifying round but not making the cut were PGA professional Terry Gibbons from Majestic Oaks Golf Course and amateurs David Flavin from the Links at Northfork, Tyler Nybeck from Rum River Hills Golf Course and Terry Gibbons from Majestic Oaks Golf Course.

The 2012 Minnesota State Open Championship is set for July 20-22 at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids.
