The event drew cars from Plymouth and Northfield, as well as local cars and enthusiasts, to the St. Francis American Legion July 1.

For the event’s first year, there were about 30 cars, said organizer Dave Krueger of North Mankato.

The Sons of the American Legion Detachment of Minnesota teamed up with the St. Francis Legion for the event.

All proceeds from the July 1 event will go to help veterans and their families through the Sons of the American Legion, Krueger said.

While this year’s event gave car enthusiasts a chance to see the cars, there were few bikes.

Next year Krueger hopes to have more classic cars and motorcycles.

Some time in the future, he hopes the event outgrows the seven-acre St. Francis American Legion site, Krueger said.
