Ham Lake man charged with assault

A 29-year-old Ham Lake man is facing a felony assault charge for allegedly striking a man in the face with a bar stool.

Jonathan Samuel Lillo was arraigned June 20 in Anoka County District Court on felony third-degree assault and misdemeanor domestic assault charges.

According to the complaint, Anoka County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched at 6:49 p.m. June 18 to a Ham Lake home on the 15500 block of Ham Lake Drive N.E. because of a reported domestic assault incident.

A 61-year-old man alleged that Lillo hit him in the face with a bar stool.

But Lillo allegedly told police that the man tripped and hit his head, which Lillo said caused the injuries.

The injuries the older man allegedly had, according to police observations, were broken front teeth and a large cut on his lower chin and lip.
