Local serviceman to speak at annual Pathways concert

The guest speaker at the annual Pathways Community Church Freedom Concert will be a local Army serviceman.

Sgt. 1st Class David Reilley will share his experiences serving in the military as part of the Ramsey church’s service to honor veterans.

The Pathways Community Church, 6341 167th Avenue N.W., Freedom Concert is July 8 at 10 a.m.

Reilley is a 1982 Anoka High School graduate and he joined the U.S. Army right after graduation.

According to a Pathways press release, it was Reilley’s lifelong dream to serve his country in this way.

In his 28-year career, the Ramsey resident has served in South Carolina, Wisconsin, New Mexico and Minnesota,

During his deployment to Iraq between 2009-2012, Reilley witnessed first-hand the March 7, 2010 presidential election and was there for operation “New Dawn” on Sept. 1, 2010.

Reilley has received many awards including:

• three Meritorious Awards;

• 11 Army commendations;

• five Army achievement medals;

• two outstanding volunteer service medals;

• meritorious unit citation;

• Iraq campaign medal;

• two service medals; and

• a global war on terrorism medal.

Reilley is a member of the VFW, American Legion and Pat of Eagles and is attending Belleview University in Nebraska.

U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann will also be speaking at the event and vocalists Mark David Williams and Charlie Lucas will be performing.
