A Raja Yoga workshop designed for the body, mind and spirit will be offered at the Coon Rapids Senior Center Thursday, July 12, 9 to 11:30 a.m.
According to Gita Kar, who conducts workshops and seminars nationwide, western science is currently turning to yoga to understand the body, mind and spirit.
Raja Yoga is a system of holistic health techniques that integrate the well-being of the individual, Kar said.
This workshop will take participants through simple body movements, breath-energy processes, techniques of meditation and deep relaxation.
Seniors will learn specific techniques to relieve/manage physical pain, enhance the immune system, reduce hypertension and stress, relax at several levels and energize body, mind and spirit.
The cost of the seminar is $5 and includes healthy snacks.
