How to find great golfing deals

Last month I wrote an article about the great courses located in Anoka County. Now I am going to give you some ideas on how to save on your next visit.

We have over 10 public courses in Anoka County and one private course. Finding a tee time should not be a problem if you plan ahead. How do you decide where to play and what to pay?

First, I would visit the golf course website – they are full of information and often have specials listed on the main page.

For instance on our home page at Rum River Hills we list a Monday and Wednesday senior special (18 holes and a riding cart for $25). This special is a 27 percent discount to our normal rate and we have additional discounts on our website as well.

Next you can google discount golf in Anoka County or discount golf in Minnesota and this should bring up many sites for you to surf for deals.

Most courses also offer the ability for you to sign up to receive their e-mail newsletter and specials, so go to each course’s website and sign up to receive their e-mail specials.

Also, there are products you can buy that offer specials to most of the courses in Anoka County.

The most popular product is called the Minnesota Golf Card. This product offers buy-one get-one free rounds and discounts on carts and range balls at most courses.

The card costs $35 and you will receive four rounds to each participating course. You can find the card for sale at most courses and golf stores in the area.

Also, many high school golf teams sell the Minnesota Golf Card to raise funds for their program.

You can also visit minnesotagolfcard.com to view and purchase the card.

So if you have considered playing one of the great courses in Anoka County, but the price has scared you off, I hope I have given you some tips to save money and get out and enjoy this great game of golf.

The most popular = means you own the discount card, of course you are going to say it is the best card.

    What a joke.
