The 2012-2013 East Bethel Royalty will be crowned Saturday, July 21.
The East Bethel Scholarship Pageant at the East Bethel Ice Arena, 20675 Highway 65 N.E., begins at 2 p.m. and is one of the big events of the community’s Booster Days celebration.
There are three candidates vying for the Miss East Bethel and East Bethel Princess titles, three East Bethel Junior Princess candidates and four Little Miss East Bethel candidates.
The oldest winners receive an educational scholarship, while the youngest royalty member (Little Miss) will get a savings bond for educational use. All royalty members make numerous public appearances.
The person crowned Miss East Bethel this year will participate in the Queen of the Lakes program in the Minneapolis Aquatennial in July 2013. Sara Fobaire, Miss East Bethel for 2011-2012, will participate in the Aquatennial Torch Light parade Wednesday, July 18. Royalty from the metro area will also walk on Target Field Tuesday evening, July 17 before the Minnesota Twins game against the Baltimore Orioles.
