Coon Rapids Cub Scout Pack 419 and Allina Health EMS (Emergency Medical Services) are hosting a safety awareness event Saturday, July 21 at the Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park Pavilion 1 area.
The event will run from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
“Our safety event is a one-day safety camp,” said Matt Johnson, Pack 419 cubmaster and Allina Health EMS paramedic.
“We will have many great topics of safety covered for the kids.”
Members of the Coon Rapids Fire Department will be demonstrating water rescue and the Coon Rapids Police Department will be making a stranger danger presentation.
In addition, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will bring its K9 search and rescue teams, while a Connexus Energy representative will speak about high voltage energy.
The Minnesota Brain Injury Association will talk about concussion awareness and the Minnesota Poison Control will have a presentation on the different poisons that can be found in the home.
There is no charge to attend the event, but there is a $5 parking fee at the Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park vehicles; walkers can get in free.
