All supplies and financial donations collected during the six-week drive were designated for Mississippi Elementary School, Coon Rapids.

Mississippi Elementary School Principal Mark Hansen was amazed at the 17 boxes of supplies and $790 in Target and Visa gift cards delivered in late June by Wells Fargo Team Member Joan Olson, whose two grandsons attend Mississippi School.

“This is by far the most generous donation we have ever received for students at Mississippi Elementary,” Hansen said.

“Our school does not have the budget to purchase all the supplies that students require each year.

“Our teaching staff wants students to have supplies such as markers, pens, pencils, notebooks, calculators, highlighters, rulers and other supplies to support learning.

There are nearly 500 students at Mississippi Elementary and some families cannot afford to provide basic items for their children, according to Hansen.

“Between classroom teachers and the school social worker they know which students are appropriate recipients, which will enable them to be successful,” Hansen said.

“These donations from Wells Fargo team members will make a huge difference for our students.”

Hansen thanks Wells Fargo team members for their generosity and wants them to know they have been an important factor in setting up students at Mississippi Elementary School for success in the 2012-2013 school year.
