Successful Pick ‘Em Challenge returns to Champions Tour for third year

The Champions Tour is announcing the return of the Pick ‘Em Challenge, back for its third year after being launched originally in August 2010.

This fantasy-style contest, which runs from August through October, will allow fans of the Champions Tour to compete for weekly prizes and the grand prize “Ultimate Clubhouse Experience” for two to the 2012 Charles Schwab Cup Championship at Desert Mountain Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.

The Pick ‘Em Challenge will take place over the course of five Champions Tour tournaments, beginning at next weekend’s 3M Championship at TPC Twin Cities, Blaine (Aug. 3-5) and concluding with the SAS Championship (Oct. 5-7).

Fans can visit to enter the contest.

“We are excited for this year’s Pick ‘Em Challenge, as we enter the final events of the season,” said Mike Stevens, President of the Champions Tour. “With the success of the Challenge the past two years, we anticipate the contest will continue to bring a fun and competitive environment to our fans.”

Contest participants can pick a player at each Champions Tour event and be awarded points based on the chosen player’s finish. The points awarded in the Pick ‘Em Challenge will mirror the Charles Schwab Cup points system where points are awarded for top-10 finishes and ties based on each week’s money distribution.  The final event of the competition, the SAS Championship, will award double points.

Each week, a winner will receive a Champions Tour Prize Package, which includes one dozen NIKE One Vapor golf balls branded with the Champions Tour logo and a Champions Tour ball marker and divot repair tool.

The 2012 Champions Tour Pick ‘Em Challenge winner will be the person who has the most cumulative contest points at the conclusion of the Challenge.  The contest grand prize, will include: airfare and accommodation for two to Scottsdale, Arizona for the Charles Schwab Cup Championship at Desert Mountain Club (Nov. 1-4), car rental,  invitations to the President’s Dinner with the opportunity to meet the top 30 players on the Champions Tour and access to the Charles Schwab hospitality suite.
