Anoka’s Main Street bridge over the Rum River has been reopened to traffic after being closed for nearly two hours around lunch time today.
According to Anoka Police Chief Phil Johanson, police responded at 12:08 p.m. to a 32-year-old male threatening to jump off the Main Street bridge into the Rum River.
Officers talked and counseled the man for nearly two hours until he came back onto the sidewalk just before 2 p.m., reported Johanson.
He was then transported to Mercy Hospital for crisis evaluation.
The Main Street bridge was reopened to traffic at 2:20 p.m.
