A St. Francis man, accused in Anoka County District Court of soliciting sex from several young boys around the country, via XBox and the telephone, has pleaded guilty to a felony charge and been placed on probation.
Chad Allen Fraune, 20, 22853 Rum River Blvd., entered a guilty plea July 10 to one of two felony counts of soliciting a child to engage in sex.
The court placed Fraune on probation for three years, gave him credit for four days spent in jail and ordered him to perform 15 hours of community service work in lieu of a $100 fine.
Probation conditions include no access to the Internet without permission, submit to polygraph exams on demand at his own expense, submit a DNA sample, complete sex offender treatment and psychological evaluation and no use/possession of pornographic or sexually explicit materials.
The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office became involved in the case after the parents of a 10-year-old boy from Indiana contacted the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office in that state back in January 2011.
When the mother of the boy discovered that her son was in contact with a person via XBox and telephone who was talking about sex acts, she and her husband contact the sheriff’s office, according to the complaint.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, after finding evidence of the details of those contacts and confirming that the calls and XBox account was from a residence in St. Francis, turned the case over to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.
When investigators talked to Fraune, he said he had been in contact and had talked sex with up to 10 young boys through XBox and the telephone because he thought “it was fun,” the complaint states.
One of those contacts involved a 10-year-old boy from Florida and included Fraune telling the boy that he would come down to Florida to pick him up.
In his statement to investigators, Fraune denied having any sexual contact with the boys with whom he had been in contact.
