Mini bikes becoming problem

Blaine City Manager Charles Motz and Blaine Police Chief Charles Merriman are quite concerned about the rising problems with Mini Bike riders here in Blaine.

Motz has requested that police crack down on these riders. Complaints stream into the police office as well as the city hall desk. The law states it is unlawful for anyone to drive or operate a motor vehicle upon any city property which has not been expressly designated for motor vehicle traffic or permitted by ordinance.

Show stopper

Blaine’s Blazin’ 4th float was a show stopper in the Minneapolis Aquatennial’s Torchlight Parade July 22. The float, which appeared earlier this month in the community’s own 4th of July parade, glittered and glowed as it proceeded along the parade route which included a busy Hennepin Avenue. The Spring Lake Park Tower Days float was also in the parade.
