The 27th annual Ham Lake Community Dance at Ham Lake Lions Park on Saturday, Aug. 18 will include much more than people shaking their hips to the music of Train Rex.
The Ham Lake Lions Club and Ham Lake Fire Department Relief Association have come up with many things to bring people to the park early.
A bean bag tournament will take place in the mid-afternoon. Registration begins at 2 p.m. and the tournament will start around 3 p.m.
Those who want to quench their thirst can buy beer for $1 each between 2 and 7 p.m. The Lions club is serving the beer and will also be dishing up pulled pork sandwiches, brats and much more.
For a cool treat, Big Dipper Ice Cream of Blaine will be at the park from 4 p.m. until midnight.
The dance begins at 7 p.m. and will feature the band Train Rex.
Around dusk, a movie that has yet to be determined will be shown in the park.
There is no cost to come to the dance and all are invited, but donations are appreciated. Proceeds will be split between the fire relief association and the Lions club.
Ham Lake Lions Park is on the south side of 157th Avenue, and less than a mile west of Highway 65.
