Kids will explore a variety of Crayola art mediums Thursday, Aug. 23 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at a party at Kenny Kids, 3111 124th Ave. N.W., Coon Rapids.
From tempera paint to clay, the party will feature projects from Abrakadoodle, an award-winning arts education company.
“This is fun that also has therapeutic benefits. Creating art helps kids to be more confident and competent,” said Sara Rohde, OTR/L, manager of Kenny Kids.
Kids don’t have to be Kenny Kids patients to come to the art party. It’s open to the public and free of charge.
In addition to encouraging a love of art, Kenny Kids hopes to spark creative original artwork entries for display at the 50th annual Sister Kenny Art Show in April 2013.
Reproductions of original artwork will become the property of Kenny Kids and may be published, framed or sold to benefit the Kenny Kids program.
Artists can submit artwork beginning in September 2012. The final deadline is March 1, 2013. Call 763-236-7337 for more information.
