Lundeen donates thousands to Castle Field

Jim Lundeen wears many baseball caps: founder of the Anoka Bucs town ball team, American Legion baseball and Anoka Ramsey baseball promoter, distributor of Killebrew Root Beer, Castle Field fund-raising committee member – and giver of an $8,000 donation to the Castle Field Association.

Home field for the Anoka Bucs will be the new Castle Field, currently being constructed near Anoka High School.

The $8,000, raised at a golf tournament fund-raiser Lundeen had organized earlier this summer, was presented during an Anoka Bucs fund-raiser staged at the Outpost in Ramsey last month.

“Mr. Lundeen has made lots of donations and contributions to help promote baseball in Anoka,” said Karen Harwerth, describing the value of Lundeen’s donation. “He does a lot of charity work for the local area, and I feel like this is a big deal.”

In addition to his $8,000 donation to Castle Field, Lundeen also supports the Anoka Bucs by donating the beer and the band – and many silent auction items – for the Anoka Bucs’ annual fund-raiser at the Outpost.
