Cynthia Hiltz was voted into the National School Nurse Executive Board at the annual conference in San Francisco, Calif., this summer.
Hiltz will serve a two-year term as one of eight nurses on this executive board. She will be the chairman of the research committee and work on school nursing policy and advocacy.
Hiltz has been a registered nurse since 1976 and has worked for Anoka-Hennepin schools since 1996. She has served in the role as the health service coordinator for the largest school district in the state for the past 10 years.
Hiltz has a masters of science in nursing with a focus in public health and has been involved in the state school nurse organization since 1998.
She has served on many different committees and was president of the School Nurse Organization of Minnesota for four years.
Her professional role has allowed her the privilege to work with children in a well care setting in public schools, Hiltz said.
