Blaine man is arrested in tobacco store raid

A 55-year-old Blaine man has been arrested for allegedly selling a herbal incense product that contains a controlled substance.

Aug. 24, investigators from the Anoka-Hennepin Drug and Violent Crime Task Force and Blaine Police Department officers executed a morning search warrant at Blaine Tobacco, 1430 93rd Lane N.E.

According to Police Chief Chris Olson, in a news release, officers seized 18, four-gram packages that were labeled “Chill Herbal Incense.”

Laboratory results alleged the herbal incense contains the synthetic analog AM-2201, a Schedule I controlled substance.

The man was arrested for probable cause sale of a controlled substance, which is a felony, and is currently being held in the Anoka County Jail.

Criminal charges are pending from the Anoka County Attorney’s Office.
